Who We Are
We are a Des Moines based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We recently completed our first project in Gambella, Ethiopia, and donated 10,000 undergarments to women and girls living there. We're currently working on supporting our home community of Des Moines and finding ways to continue supporting women and girls in Gambella, Ethiopia.
Our Mission
We’re working to bring personal care products to women and girls who need them. Through support, advocacy and research, we aim to uplift women and girls in both domestic and international communities and create a positive impact in the places we reach.
How We Work
Support
We donate personal care items such as undergarments, menstruation products, moisturizers, deodorants and more to women and girls in need of them.
Advocacy
We advocate for women and girls’ access to personal care, education and career opportunities.
Research
We aim to conduct research and stay up-to-date on relevant information to effectively serve our communities and improve our work.
Our Founders
The BalangNyal Foundation was founded in May of 2022 by two women who envisioned a world where all women and girls received the care and resources they may lack due to uncontrollable circumstances.
